Keyodhoo has a little over six hundred residents and sits in Vaavu, the atoll with the fewest people in the country and some of its best-known dive channels.

It is quieter than Fulidhoo and less set up for visitors, with a short list of guesthouses and a correspondingly short list of things to do that are not the reef.

Vaavu's appeal is narrow and clear: strong currents, big fish, and islands where almost nobody else is. Keyodhoo is on the quieter end of that.

The long crossing from Malé is more comfortable in the calmer northeast monsoon months. Current-driven diving in the channels is a question of the day, not the season.
