Mahibadhoo

Mahibadhoo is the administrative centre of Alif Dhaal and, with over two and a half thousand residents, by some distance the largest island covered here outside Malé and Hulhumalé.

That changes what a stay feels like. There is a working harbour, a hospital, shops that carry more than basics, and ferry connections that exist because people need them rather than because visitors do. It is a town, not a village.

For a traveller that cuts both ways: more infrastructure and easier onward travel, less of the small-island quiet that draws people to Fulidhoo or Bodufolhudhoo.
